I think it's been a long time since there was any project 14 contest related to RF. There was RFIDand NFC last month but it was more towards applications and use cases of RFID and NFC tags.
Sub 1GHz sounds interesting as there are many circuits operating in that frequency band and do not require specialised instruments for testing.
