I guess the suggestion box moved here so I will reiterate one idea I mentioned earlier and add one: - a classroom demonstration of some physics phenomenon ( jc2048 had some good ideas ) - a solar powered…

Keeping with July and (northern hemisphere) Summer time, I like Douglas' ideas. Demonstration of physical phenomenon for classroom is a great avenue, I was thinking lots of solar stuff. Charging systems…

I still add in small sections of pure assembly into C code when I want to ensure strict timing requirements are met and I want to know exactly what is happening. Apart from that I moved across a few years ago from assembly to C and was so glad I did as it is great to be able to use all the structures and constructs of C.

I like the FPGA idea, but I wonder who still does Assembly? Optimizers have gotten too good these days, I only use Assembler if there just isn't a good C compiler.

My Idea is...I think that a portable, solar charged, "Charging system", for autonomous vehicles, (maybe make them mandatory with each vehicle sale). So it's easier and more convenient to charge your vehicle on your time and anywhere you want! Just remove the charging cable from the accessible, built in, "plug door", and plug it into the vehicles access port. The solar panel charging system is integrated into the vehicles roof, or on the top side of the "side panels" for best results. It's possible to make them visually appealing or to conceal them completely until the vehicle is in motion, and have access to expose them to the sun at any time. Now the Autonomous vehicles no longer have to get charged at the filling station and wait until it's done, (saving time and unwanted temptations from the convenance store) where you know they will be putting the charging stations around the country   . Now go straight to the hotel and plug your vehicle into itself and be ready to go on your own time!!! Also a Cloud based tracking system, for anything you need information on, while you're on vacation. To have hotel info, power station tracking (in cases that it's necessary, (ie)) emergencies (faster response times) and pinopint accuracy (w/Bluetooth)/(and 3rd party integration).

Thank you for the opportunity to showcase my ideas without the threat of someone taking it. Sorry for those who had this idea and didn't patent it before today. It's all mine now, but great idea though!!!                     Jason Chesnut CEO                                                     Hidden Fortunes LLC

Another potential idea for a Project14 is a project that has custom assembly language code in it.

Or another one could be a project that has an FPGA in it.

I really like the solar powered yard gadget idea. This can be very useful and I can see this being tied in with home automation somehow.

Would be cool to have an IoT project Competition - I'm thinking a project that makes use of a wireless technology and a cloud provider (AWS, Google Cloud, io.adafruit etc).  This could include quite a wide array of projects for example: -Cloud connected home security system. -Environmental monitoring (Temp, humidity, air quality etc) -Industrial data logger with online data logging -Asset tracking - eg. baggage tracker utilising GPS and Sigfox network -Smart garage door opener -Energy monitoring I am sure there are plenty of other far better ideas!  --------------------------------------------------- Tony
