Knowing when or if they plan to fix the dead links on their site and github repos would be helpful. Some sort of schematic of the board would be handy as well; although I do understand it is a closed architecture…

    Hi Jon,

We are actually working on this right now! Since deprecating MOS, we have been sweeping our website, documentation, and GitHub repos to ensure everything points to the appropriate resources. The updates should go through soon. If there are specific links you are referring to, it would be great if you could let us know!

Regarding board schematics, we don't have the PCB files open at this time, but we do have some reference models for dimensions, the pinout mapping for the GPIOs, interface mapping with the Raspberry Pi's GPIOs, and more on the MATRIX Creator resources tab here.

Thank you for sharing the FPGA live stream here. We will be working to provide more examples on that as well!

Additionally, MATRIX OS has been deprecated and is no longer supported, but you can check out our documentation to see how to use our other library layers MATRIX HAL (C++), MATRIX Core (JavaScript and Python using Google's protocol buffers & ZeroMQ) and MATRIX Lite (JavaScript and in development Python wrapper for MATRIX HAL). All of these layers have examples on sensor interfaces, GPIO and LEDs.

Please feel free to provide suggestions on how we can further demystify the MATRIX platform for developers!

    Best,

    Samreen

    Aabhas,

Thank you for your feedback! You can check out the steps to this workshop we conducted to see how you can get Snips to respond back to you using your MATRIX Creator.

Just a note, Matrix OS has been Deprecated and will no longer be updated.  The suggestion is to use Matrix HAL or Matrix Lite to control the Matrix Devices.

Good question. That is how I feel.

Now, you have to start your Martrix Service after Voice service as main loop.

Then, in your program, send Voice command in BASH Massage in txt.

If you want Voice service runs as main loop. It kown little about Matrix, you need develop your Voice skill first and be approved firsthand. Maybe you have little time to put it all together.

Not to take anything from the Matrix Lab folks, but I posted a link previously to a YouTube Video where Samreen and Alfred from Matrix Labs show how to set up the Xlinx ISE environment to code and then how to program the FPGA on the Matrix Creator.

Matrix Creator board  is a very good hardware board according to me but I think that it still needs to be more open sourced and have more tutorials on interfracing it with raspberry pi and different sensors and more .

The main question I have regarding matrix creator is how to reply through voice using a matrix creator and snips , I mean how to configure it on raspberry pi based on the input throyth voice we get.

And how to interfrace and use all it's sensors with the raspberry pi without using matrix os , I mean  how to access the sensor just like accessing gpio through pyhton

These are my queries and would be helpful for doing my project.

Just got one MATRIX Creator. Really great design and ongoing development. Even the FPGA bit-stream code is open sourced in github.

But really take efforts to understand each part of the sensors and parts, tough job.

    There have been two issues.

    A) The planned ecosystem is big picture as far as I can see, including Matrix OS, Matrix HAL, Matrix Lite with Javascript or python as high level Layer Interface. More community members shall be encouraged to contribute codes, there are still not eough reference design to understand the whole scene.

    B) The Voice control are not integrated into the Matrix OS. For other Voice AI engine, this Matrix Creator is configurated as Microphone and Speaker(not in this board). It is recommended such engine shall be included into the MATRIX OS, at least, some customise API opened for able developers. Google AI engine can be one good choice. It is really difficult for me to port voice command to GPIO  pins with other service like snip.ai. Matrix OS can do this all by itself. No WIFI chip in the board,  but there is enough space , why not make it standare plugh-ins.

My questions would be, without doing extra research on this board:

    (1)     Where does it rate in comparison to other similar boards/sets for simplicity, ease of software use, expandability/shields, programming languages ?

    (2)     How easy is it to learn to program the FPGA? I ask this because I bought a Arduino Vidor 4000 when they were released, based on the advertising that a simple GUI was imminent...but it never was released as far as I know, so the unit was a bit disappointing.

I would be interested in learning about the units sensitivity and options for signal processing applications.
