Well, we've reached the end of the Hats Off adventure. My Mardi Gras hat is complete and working great. Wayne was kind enough to model it for me, so that I could shoot the final video.
I have to say that there is little in life more rewarding than doing things for yourself. To create something from nothing but a photo as inspiration, is a challenge with great rewards. I had never used electronics before and I had a blast working with them. I've already got three more projects in my head to bring to life. I had never done paper mache before either, but I'm so glad I had the opportunity with this project. I'll be incorporating that skill into my creative arsenal.
If you've always wanted to sew, do paper mache or work with electronics, now is a great time to start. If you want to give this a go, here's all the patterns and documentation on the Element 14 blog.
Please let me know what you think of the finished hat.
Thank you to Adafruit and Element 14. I had a lot of fun with this challenge!
