Hello again, everyone! I got another video for you about painting and finishing the helmet! (although I still have other things to do) I am very close to being done!
Stay tuned for more videos!
Coming up:
I thought I should tell you all what is left to do, and how many videos to look out for. I have 4 more post coming up, with 5 (Technically 4, one is a two part episode) videos in them
Posts coming up:
1. Putting magnets/clips in the helmet
2. Wiring, and putting all the tech in the helmet
3. Adding accessories (e.g. padding, sun glass lenses, etc)
4. The final video/demonstration!
Things used:
-Primer (price pending, about $11 for me)
-Spot putty (I think this was about $6)
-A dark cherry red paint (price also pending, about $5 - $11 depending on brand)
-18 kt. gold paint (this was $11 for me, 24 kt gold is more accurate!)
-Bondo/plastic spreaders (no clue on price)
-100 grit sandpaper (price pending, I got 5 sheets for $4.56)
-150 grit sandpaper (same as above)
Things to remember:
Panting:
-DO NOT paint unless you are sure you're project is done! Paint IS NOT a good primer!
-Paint using several light coats, until helmet is one uniform color, and paint with a sweeping motion, spraying in spurts.
Sanding:
-Sand with 100 grit until mostly smooth, then sand with 150-180 grit for a really smooth finish.
Stay tuned for magnets and clips video!
