Inductive Sensing Design Challenge: the Forget-Me-Not!  Key and Phone Forgetness Detector and Preventer

Here's a description of my project using the ultra-cool inductive sensor.  Looking forward to getting all the pieces together!

The ForgetMeNot!  Key and Cellphone (Etc) Forgetness Detection and Prevention Device.

How many times have you taken out your keys or cell phone when dining out or having coffee, only to walk away and leave them behind?   Or have you ever left the house without your phone, keys, or reading glasses?  Or left your phone charger in a hotel room?

The ForegetMeNot! pouch will put at end to that!   It features a pocket with an inductive sensor and and an accelerometer, and will monitor and detect when you are leaving and warn you when you’ve left something behind.

It can be used in a purse or clipped to a belt, so it keeps your phone handy and even protects it from scratches, and an intelligent algorithm detects the use of a phone while walking to prevent false alarms.

It also has a separate wireless transmitter fob that you can place it your car and house to deactivate the alarm while you’re driving or using your phone at home.

It also features a built-in clock and can be configured to only alert you during certain hours, so  it can also be used to remind you to put your phone in the charger at night, and each ForgetMeNot! can be configured separately for each fob and for different modes for maximum flexibility.  And a travel-mode option lets it warn you about forgotten cell phone chargers on check-out day.

It can be calibrated for use with a wide variety of items, including keys, phones, glasses with metal frames, phone chargers & cables, and jewelry.
