Hi, I'm Andy, and I intend to Hack Like Heck.
- I intend to make a video that shows me creating a working hand held, portable gaming device
- I will post the video on the element14 Community by the submission deadline, 2-April-2018
- If my video is one of the top 10 finalists I will receive $500 for my video
You can watch my Audition Tape here.
For my entry to the contest I will make a retro pi emulator that will have interchangeable controllers. The controllers will be as close to the real thing as possible and will connect to the raspberry pi via usb. With this design, when you want to play a NES game, then you connect the NES controller to it; when you play a SNES game then you can use the SNES controller. It is also possible to extend this idea to other remotes as well like a sega or N64 controller. In edition to the controllers I will also make a stand for the head unit that has a usb hub in it so you can connect up to four controllers so you can play with your friends.
I have just started sharing my projects with the world on youtube, and you can check out my channel 530 Projects.
I appreciate this opportunity to share my projects with Element 14 community and the Ben Heck Show crew. I hope you enjoy my project video and it would be awesome if you think that it deserves the top prize and vote for me. But even if I don't win, I finally have an excuse to make a portable retro pi emulator that I have been wanting to make for a while now.
