Terms and Conditions:
- This opportunity is organised and sponsored by element14 (the “Organiser”).
- The application period will be open from April 1, 2015 - May 29th, 2015 4:00 PM CDT
- Applications will be reviewed and selected by members of the element14 team, the Detroit Maker Faire and Ben Heck. Applicants who have been chosen will receive notification via email no later than June 5, 2015. Submissions will be selected based on originality, innovation and technical merit at the sole discretion of element14.
- By submitting an application for consideration, the applicant:
- Affirms they own the IP and all rights to the project and are authorized to represent the project and indemnifies element14 from any claim by a third party that use of any material provided by an entrant infringes the intellectual property rights of a third party;
- Authorizes the Organiser to use their personal data (as defined in the Data Protection Act 1998), application and any video footage shot in relation to this promotion for the purposes of running and promoting The Ben Heck Show and element14.com, this year and/or in subsequent years
- Agrees to positively participate in all publicity surrounding their participation or possible inclusion in a future episode of The Ben Heck Show or other video produced by the Organiser
- Agrees to be responsible for any costs involved including transportation, lodging, shipping of the project, etc. Admission to the Detroit Maker Faire will be provided to selected participants.
- To complete an online application to attend the Detroit Maker Faire and agree to the terms and conditions of the Henry Ford Museum in regards to attending that event
- To be available onsite at the Henry Ford Museum on Friday, 24 July or Saturday, 25 July for videotaping with the crew of The Ben Heck Show.
- This promotion may be terminated at any time if there are, in the sole opinion of element14, an insufficient number of entries, or if the applications are not of an appropriate standard for this promotion. The Organiser has the right to cancel this promotion if necessary due to circumstances outside its reasonable control. The Organiser reserves the right to make changes from time to time and the latest version of these Terms from time to time will be posted to the site.
- General
- The Organiser reserves the right to delegate all or any of its powers, rights and obligations arising in relation to this promotion to any Associate and certain such rights and powers are assumed by the Organiser on behalf of itself and each Associate. Reference to “Organiser” shall be deemed to include reference to each Associate.
- This promotion may be terminated at any time if there are, in the sole opinion of the Organiser, an insufficient number of entries, or if the Applications are not of an appropriate standard for a competition of this nature. The Organiser has the right to cancel or suspend this promotion at any time due to circumstances outside its reasonable control.
- The Organiser shall have the sole discretion to disqualify (without correspondence or right of appeal) any Applicant it considers to be adversely affecting the process or the operation of this promotion or to be in breach of these Terms or to be acting in a disruptive manner or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other Applicant or Participant.
- The Organiser has the right to amend or add to these Terms from time to time. Revised Terms and Conditions will be posted on the Competition Site and it is a condition of entry to this promotion that Applicants and Participants agree to comply with these Terms and, if appropriate, such Terms as amended from time to time.
- Headings are for convenience only and do not affect the interpretation or construction of these Terms and Conditions.
- These Terms and the operation of this promotion shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English Law and any claim or matter arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
