SOPA seeks to help protect our intellectual property, but what will be lost if it passes?

Fingers crossed for rejection.

    Hi Cabe,

Initially I was leaning toward support these bills, but then I realized that no government legislation has EVER stopped criminal activities.  Looking at this issue from that aspect, I cannot see any government actually enforcing such a measure.  It just gives them another venue to hit little guys who are mostly guiltless, while allowing the big offenders go free because no one has the fortitude to enforce the law.

If you look at all of the copyright laws already on the books, they clearly identify when a transgression occurs.  Again, it is the lack of enforcement, not a lack of legislation that lets the problem flourish.

So I wanted to thank you for getting me to stop and rethink my position.  As they say, it is the trip that enlightens, not the destination.
