    Greetings all,

My name is Adam Compton.  I am a computer programmer, security researcher, and network vulnerability consultant/penetration tester.  I just recently (last 6 months) started working with “hardware” projects.  I am wanting to get started with my son (3 yo) on some fun intro projects that hopefully help him develop a desire for making/building in the years to come.

    Hi Al!

Welcome to the Community if you haven't found them yet some groups that we have are the Arduino Group and Open Source Hardware Group. Also on the knode you can find information on a lot of different dev boards like the PSoC4 by Cypress.

Hope this can at least get you started.

    Jason G.

    Hi Brendan!

Welcome to the Community and Congratulations on getting your degree! You looking to stay with Hardware design or going to go for a Software line of work?

Besides the Raspberry Pi and Arduino you might want to check out the BeagleBone Black or the PSoC4 board just as some other options to throw in the mix.

    Have fun!

    Jason G.

    Hi Boualam,

Welcome to the Community! I would be very interested to see information on your project. So if you want to start a Blog or a Project and keep the Community up to date on what's going on. I would be interested to read about what you have going on. Also if you haven't found it yet be sure to stop by and check out the Arduino Group,

    Good Luck with your project!

    Jason G.

    Hi Terry,

The only smell that I have been able to generate with electronic parts is the smell of burnt ICs when the magic smoke is released. You could possibly design something along the lines of an Aromatherapy machine or what ever you can dream up.

Hi My name is Arvind. I am retired and dabble in electronics as a hobby since 1963 !! Yes I am getting a bit long in the tooth.image I just bought a Raspberry PI although I have been reading about it. I used to be good at writing BASH scripts but am trying to get used to Raspbian. For this I find this forum very useful and it is good to see all the experts taking the time to help others like me.
