I'm all the way in Australia so I'm probably in no position to do anything directly, but those battery terminals look crusty and corroded. Have you tried cleaning them and changing the batteries? Also try cycling the switch a few times in case it's oxidised internally ...

Conceptually, the device looks very simple, not much should really go wrong with it assuming it hasn't been abused.

    Hi Gough,

Thanks for your suggestions. I've tried all the obvious simple things like changing the batteries, working the switch, etc. There really isn't any corrosion on the battery terminals. Hasn't been abused.

    Thanks,

    AWJ

Another thing to try is reseating the chip in its socket.

It doesn't look like the components have been over-stressed. The 2072D is a signal sensor chip:

    https://datasheetspdf.com/datasheet/2072D.html

Check if the power supply pins on the chips to see if they are getting enough supply voltage from the battery.

    Where are you ?

There are lots of E14 people who could fix this, me included, but you need to find one near to you.

Just in case, I'm in SW Scotland.

Can you provide a more detailed failure description?

You said there is no signal output -

Is the Red "power" LED on and not blinking?

Do the Blue "ready" and Green "triggered" LEDs operate?

Have you tried adjusting the sensitivity control?
