Do you want to be the next Uncle Bill? Money mouth

If you can turn Solar Energy directly into Hydrogen Gas, then you are the next Uncle Bill. Money mouth

Is it possible that we're asking the wrong question? Perhaps we should wonder "Why do we feel the need to move everything around so much?" We have built up our transportation systems one illogical decision…

Almost unrelated: when I served in the army, I was aimer on a Howitzer piece (M109 MK II). I 'd be able to deliver your package with 1.5 m precision in a 25 KM range.

Hydrogen is a dead end. The only reason it existed in the first place is so that petrochemical companies hoped they could retain some of their distribution / sales pipeline. It's also dying out already…

I don't agree with that. Universities create a community around these items. That makes that they evolve and are challenged outside of the internet.

If only we could 3-d print atoms (replicator technology).

Alternatively, we could move to ballistics to transport goods. Roads not needed!

    That sounds like 1930's technology.

I disagree, Hydrogen is the fuel the universe uses.

EV sales are near zero in rural areas and dealers cannot sell the cars.

It will take less effort to create a hydrogen fuel capability than it will to completely redo the electric grid to support EVs.

Maybe if we used battleships. Then we could deliver a minivan's worth of products within 30 miles of the coasts.

Solar is energy. Hydrogen is matter. If I could do an energy to matter conversion,I'd develop turning solar radiation into brownies and ice cream. I'm the crazy uncle.

One recent development in the hydrogen gas field has been the Discovery of fast deposits trapped inside the rock formations of the Canadian shield. These vast deposit apparently are created by water reacting with the minerals within the rock and then being trapped by a stratified layer of the impermeable rock or sandstone above. On a sidenote if and when natural gas is no longer in use, it may be possible to repurpose its infrastructure to support rooftop solar based hydrogen generation from every home, probably just a pipe dream!

Yes, it is closer to my idea.

So chemists and biologists must work harder.
