Hello everyone!
I can’t believe I’ve only just stumbled across this community — where have you all been hiding? I’ve got a long (and somewhat dubious) history of building wildly overengineered solutions to the tiniest household problems — the kind of things that already have 95% perfectly good commercial fixes... but honestly, where’s the fun in that?
By day, I’m a software engineer. About 20 years ago, I was lucky enough to sit next to the office’s resident microcontroller wizard — a true electronics guru who patiently taught me everything I know during a million ten-minute notepad chats. After a questionable fling with a dodgy PIC evaluation kit, I discovered Arduino and never looked back… at least until I needed WiFi and heavier code, when the ESP32 swooped in to save the day.
That said, I’ll always have a soft spot for the good old 328p — I just can’t bring myself to love 3.3V logic (too much faff!).
Anyway, hello! Delighted to have found the e14 asylum — can’t wait to get stuck in.
