What is this adhesive patch chip

Can somebody tell me what this is. It had a white backing on it that I peeled off

    It is similar to an RFID Tag but you can see that there is not the small chip instead present in the RFID tags. In this case if you place thin Aluminium foild around the tag it is masked by the detector…

    Hi Jan,

     

    There may (guessing) be many variants, there is a (dumb tag) type which is on both side of entryways which uses a receiver circuit here:

    Possibly some manufacturers keep it vague for security through obscurity perhaps, so I'm not sure.

    nuance: It's a transmitter that gets its stable state disturbed by the resonant circuit when it moves in range. There's no receiver that gets a reply.
