I have the Worst tool for using with my projects:

Why may you ask would I try to use? Well a long story made short. I was working on project recently trying to glue on a PCB board to a stick. because I needed it to stay in place. Well it did not get on right and besides looked awful. Well I tried to use the tool to the left and in the process removed more electronic chips than PCB board. Needless to say I too the other end and beat it out of frustration.

I threw out  all of these including the Worst instrument. Not my kind of tool I guess.

Years ago when I was in college and dirt poor I made a couple of poor people tools to help out.

1.  Just a piece of romex house copper wire glued into a hole on a 1x6 board.  It still actually works well for the right situation. It can be bent like an extra finger to hold things down.

2. Is little wooden boy.  At the same time period I had this board all drilled up with different holes to line things up while I soldered.  I named it Little Wooden Boy after the sidekick the Tick had.

The worst tool i have ever used on a project is a sharp kitchen knife. I thought I could just strip back a piece of wire while I was in the kitchen because i was being lazy (never again) I then subsequently managed to deglove my thumb with the sharp knife yee ouch after a trip to the hospital and 15 stitches my thumb is still numb 10 years later.

Valuable life lesson for 20 bucks. If only all life lessons were that inexpensive.

Yup.  I fell for that one also.  SO-O-O-O useless.

robertpaperboat BTW I still have one of those little jewels. I tried to use it once without the ratchet and it was slipping. I TOSSED IT IN MY TOOLBOX TO REMEMBER HOW MUCH OF A SUCKER IWAS TO BUY, TO BEGIN WITH !!

I was at my brother's house on vacation. He asked me to look at his boat since he always takes into a mechanic to do any work. He hands me this gator grip "universal socket" with pride that he bought. I told him it would strip a bolt in a quick second and he said it wouldn't because it had great engineering. First bolt he used it on...stripped. No self-respecting man should have this. What a piece of junk.

Which reminds me of how I learned the lesson "Thou shalt not be a human voltmeter".  While learning about induction disk relays, the instructor told another student to spins the induction disk to show what the relay did.  The student refused.  He was kind of a whiner anyway.  So I told him as much and leaned in - and spun the calibration disk.  The induction disk is not energized.  The calibration disk is.  ZAP!  @#$%!!!  You know, you can't really shake those electrons off by shaking your hand - but we shake the hand anyway.

I learned a lot that day - about induction disk relays - and about civility.
