If we arranged an element14 Community get together / party - would you want to go?

Hello!

As a way to celebrate our members and the Community being 10 years old we're discussing a get together for our members! Some of our Top Members have already brought up the idea, so now the Community team want to hear feedback of just how many people would be interested in this, and what it would be like?

This would likely happen later in the year.

Would it be a gathering in a pub? Would we all meet up at a conference or event that's already running?

What would you expect to happen at the gathering?

Let us know in the comments and add your vote as to where you'd be able to attend, either near our offices in Chicago, or in Leeds!

I voted Leeds - for the obvious reason of proximity to SW Scotland. Why not organise the event as a conference/show-and-tell ? Possibly get some supplier presentations as well (technical not sales) MK

Leeds is a fair distance for me (Reigate, South of London down near Gatwick) but I think I'd be able to manage it.

In September it would cost me about £400 to fly to Chicago but the other costs are much more since I would lose more time and need more hotel  stays etc,

I reckon in the end it would cost me about £1k5 more than a Leeds meet - and of course it will be the same for anyone flying the other way.

Perhaps you'll need to arrange 2 meets.

I think there'll be good amounts of interest in both locations!

I'm nearer Leeds than Chicago, so I voted Leeds, but wish there were a way to all be at the same place!

Great idea. Being technical, we should really have the ability of those who cannot attend, being able to drop in virtually, to appear on one of several monitors to say hi to anyone who is physically there? Or a similar link between the Leeds and Chicago venues - time difference/timings allowing.

This would be a great opportunity to meet some of the other members as well as the great staff that keeps the forum up and running.

I would be happy to go to Chicago for any form of element 14 get together.

That's not a bad idea. People could bring along their Project14 entries, etc.

Being on a big island in the Southern Hemisphere doesn't help. But I suppose it's nearly equally as difficult to get to both locations image

It's really a great idea! I obviously voted Lees, as I live in Europe. As a matter of fact, it will no so difficult for me to organize to come to Chicago (and a good opportunity to visit the place, maybe a week) but I think that the cost has a considerable influence on the choice of the place for me.
