Thinking bots

Hi! If your reading this then you should probably keep your mind open and just roll with what i am telling you. My team attends North East Magnet High School in Wichita KS. I have an interest in Control systems and electronics engineering. My teammate Austin Slater has always been adept at mechanical engineering and physical design. What we intend to do and in fact what we have already had some success with is designing, building, programming, and TEACHING. a humanoid robot. We are using neural network concepts to encode a Long-Short term memory neural network. This allows the robot to have thought and even memories in the form of "Physical" Connections between the "Neurons" and the signals being bounced around the "Brain". The bot has treads for mobility and is humanoid from the waist up. The bot has already learned to avoid sharp drops or "Cliffs" such as a table's edge. It has learned to make a punching motion and lean back to avoid being hit. (HINT. we built two bots to simulate a fight with each other). We still have farther to go but we are on a steady way. any help, advice, things you would like to see, or just cool comments, post them here. thank you

The device that won the competition was A neuro vending machine. you put your head against the panel and based on what your brain was craving, the vending machine would dish out the perfect thing for you…

Ones again dude, awesome project! Keep up posted, I im really interested to see where this gets.

By the way what the hell kind of device won the 1st place??

    Good luck!

Video Cause interference with his Camera Eyes. they are not the best. That is one reason I am working with more complicated electronic circuits now. I am aiming to add voice recognition and Voice synthesis and Speech understanding capabilities to his big brother. In order to do this and have the network drive it all I am researching "Super Cluster" or "Parallel" Computing. This will allow for the use of a much larger Network that still runs with a high cycle/second ratio. The challenges I face are as follows, Common shared RAM module so all microcontrollers have the same data. Real-time camera input instead of the measly 3 frames per second.  And more complex feedbacks that cover the individual tilt of all moving parts. Thank you for your interest.

Wow, that's cool!  I can see the possibilities for the weight loss market already!   Refrigerators with this neuro technology would be interesting!

What if your refrigerator could display a recipe to show you what to make for dinner based on the ingredients inside and also what you are craving?  Perhaps you could create a program to ensure the dinner met specific dietary requirements too?

Thanks for posting this discussion about your project - it's been really interesting to read through.  Looking forward to seeing more from you, trapfether!

Sure why not - the Government is only a step away from dictating to us what we can and can't eat anyways, this will just make it easier for them - image

Missed your chance Nicole to recommend he looks at the Chipkit UNO (NZ prt number is  189321101)

80Mhz with the extra pins and the same form factor as the arduino means you can migrate straight away.
