Particle is discontinuing development of Particle Mesh

So, it looks like Particle is getting out of the Mesh Network business and will discontinue their Particle Mesh, OpenThread-mesh based networking solution as well as stopping production of the Xenon boards.

 

They posted a timeline on their site, with June 30th, 2020 as the end for technical support for Particle Mesh.

 

No new Mesh networks will be able to be created after December 31,2020.

    I did a road test with this mesh kit and I thought it was a very good system. Nevertheless, having read through the particle.io blog post I can understand their reasons, which are all valid, in my opinion…

    Yes mesh is not a bad thing. Listening to the live stream and this is alluded to. Sub-gHz is better for industrial environment (refrigeration, is one example noted).
