Is anyone else getting spammed by RPbruiser?? 70+ emails from notifications in 10 minutes.

As I just stated I personally don't have my inbox linked to my email and didnt think about notifications being sent that way. I was trying to contribute my opinions with the community, but did not think or mean to cause such an annoyance. I will keep this in mind in future interactions with posts

Indeed, I also think the notification system needs to be reworked, to allow users to enable/disable notifications on all events (posts, likes, markings and so on). This way each user can manage their inbox as they see fit. This issue seems to have sparkled another debate though, about the point scoring system. On this one, I'm not so sure that the current system needs any change. As it stands now, the system seems fair to me, if we think of element14 as an open community. The points are there not so much to satisfy anybody's ego, but to act as incentive for any form of partecipation. This is (at least the way I see it) an inclusive community, that welcomes any contribution. Lets not forget that not all the members of the community are extroverts, and any form of interaction can help easing new members into active membership, which I believe is the ultimate goal. Of course, as for any community (virtual or real), there will always be the few that play the systems to their advantage, but the rules should be made for the many that abide by the rules, not the few, otherwise you end up hindering the partecipation. As a "recent" member myself, my own experience is that I found very helpful when people take the time to read and comment, and I find likes and helpful marks incentives to build confidence and further interaction (and build relationships as well). Ultimately, I see element14 as a place where I can share my interests with others, learn new things, seek and (within my limits) give help to fellow members. That's my 2 cents... Fabio.

I have asked before for the ability to disable the "marked as helpful" email notifications, I don't find them particularly useful.
