Is this site real or bogus?

The thought of a website that encourages product reviews by letting people try the product sounds interesting and useful, but of the last 5 or 6 items offered, I see no reviews or activity at all!  Has anyone out there received or reviewed any of the recent products or is this just another way to get on a mailing list?  After 5 months, it may be time to drop this site!

A list of "winners" is not necessary, but a notice that an event is closed would be nice.

If the responses (i.e. the Road Test Results) are unmoderated, then the authors names will be published along with the results anyway...  If people wanted to remain anonymous, they could probably send their submission to Alistair who could post them to the documents section, and cross the name off of the (secret) 'awaiting feedback' list.  Perhaps.

I think your earlier suggestion is a great one. If the winners are known (and choose to be published), they can contact each other (maybe add as friend), or create a thread asking questions, suggesting solutions and reporting problems and how to overcome those problems. It doesn't make any more work for me to take someone's name off the list if they don't wish to be known. Hopefully they will make thereselves known in the longer term by posting a review

It seems that there use to be multiple dates for each item. Has the event page been updated to reflect only one entry per roadtest? If this is the case, does the date always represent the closing date?  The event calendar may be a good place to note the closing, but a simple posting to a discussion group or blog stating that the selection has been closed would be very helpful.

    Hi Gordon,

Initially I opened the RoadTest from when I put the event up to the closing date. That didn't work because it looked like it was active all the time, it clogged up the events calendar and confused members. I changed it to an event that would happen on one day, and people would have plenty of time to register an interest to cure these problems.

There is only one RoadTest, nobody will receive notification, or any dev kits until the RoadTest closing date in the event. After this I will post the kits out, and hopefully the recipients will take the opportunity to post their views to the group. If it will make things easier, I can post a message a week before the closing date to remind members
