  • Okay i am a kid before Christmas, Easter and my Birthday and have eaten all my Halloween candy!!!!!!!

  • I want to make up an amateur radio repeater controller that is full featured and eventually make it into an IRLP node.

  • That's easy.

     

    The device: connect a laser to the raspi's controller pins and write a little program to control the laser.  Add two electrodes to the controller pins also controlled by the little program.  The electrodes should contain a small circuit that produces a pulse of electricity when activated.  Connect a 3G wireless dongle connected to a long flexible antenna with a pingpong ball attached to the end.  Add a small low power camera.  Encase the device with lithium battery pack into a waterproof container.

     

    The application: tranquilize a shark and strap the device to its back and glue the electrodes on just in front of the gills, one on each side.  Submerge the shark into the ocean (or a local channel) and float the extended antenna to the surface.  Connect to the Raspberry Pi with a remote computer and activate the camera to get a shark's eye view and it's all set.  Wait for the shark to wake up.

     

    I would now have a remote controlled shark with a freaking laser!  Yeeeaaah!

  • I would like to get this brilliant piece of engineering because i would use it for a fully prepared touch screen, wifi, bluetooth, gps equipped in car media and online center. that would be awsome!

  • I would like to give it to my daughter, and help her let her imagination loose on it. Then help her learn the programming tools that she will need to give those ideas a go.

  • I want to build a very tough case for it and a portable battery power pack, so I can make my presentations anywhere without carrying my laptop with me.

     

     

    And my other idea is to use it as a lan connection platform via usb wireless adapter to power our lan parties with my friends.

     

     

    And there is another ideo of mine but it will ofcourse take so much time to put a test on like this;

     

     

    I'm a mechanical engineering student, but I'm very interested in robotics. So my team at school decided to make a UAV as a project. Because I have alot of know-how about aerospace industry and group projects. For now I'm the captain of this one

     

     

    When it comes to what we can do with this little amazing device, I must say you are limited with only your imagination. Because we saw all of these applications and robots done by aurdino which has almost no processing power due to raspberry. We can process data and information by raspberry pi so quickly that desicion making in robotics become more agile.

     

     

    I have some using space in my project for Rasp Pi too. Firstly we need a very advanced autopilot system which always monitors almost 30 flight parameter so many times a second. So that after we take off by the plane, it will take the control itself and make it's misson by its own. Some of these datas are; altitude, radar altitude, GPS position, artificial horizon position, flight speed, true air speed etc etc. And it has to make calculations due to the dynamics of our own design aircraft (by observing possible turning circles, maximum blank angle etc.) so that this autopilot can go to the misson area and make it's duty.

     

     

    And by Rasp Pi we can not only do autopilot but also we can make some image processing and tracking applications to control the camera turret to keep track of the targets.

     

     

    And one last thing, it can also do some cription to secure data from airplane to ground service.

     

     

    So if we look as a whole package, we can easiliy see that with these devices we can really have good processing power with low power and cost. Which are wery important in a plane. And they are so light than the PLC that we "were" planning to use.

  • one of my plans is to install the RPI into an old BBC B case I have, running a beeb emulator...

     

    converting the keyboard to work as a usb device is going to be the biggest problem.

  • I'm planning on turning it into a cheap Webserver and set top media server with a custom encloser.

  • I want to see how Arch Linux fares in such a low power environment, I'd also be interested in building and maintaining Arch Linux ARM packages for compatible software that hasn't yet been ported, which may require me to become a little proficient in programming to achieve. Of course, the Pi would be a great platform to learn programming languages on.
