What exactly is a 430Boost-CC110L AIR Module BoosterPack kit?
The 430Boost-CC110L AIR Module BoosterPack kit is a development tool that enables design engineers to quickly develop wireless applications using Texas Instruments popular LaunchPad development tool. Retailing for approximately $20USD each, this BoosterPack kit features Anaren Integrated Radio (AIR) modules based on TI’s CC110L low-cost, low-power RF chip and operating at the global ISM bands at either 868MHz (Europe) or 915MHz (N. America).
Each of these 10 free BoosterPack kits will contain:
2 each A110LR09A-LPD BoosterPack boards (featuring Anaren AIR modules)
2 each MSP430G2553IN20 MSP430 Value Line microprocessors (pre-flashed w/ control firmware
1 CD (contains software, driver, applications notes, more)
1 step-by-step QuickStart Guide
What will you need to supply in order to operate your free BoosterPack?
In order to use this kit, you will need two of your own Texas Instruments LaunchPads, which will be provided to successful enrolees, free of charge. Additionally, you will need a PC and may want to have a soldering iron, solder, an x-jumper, and USB battery.
What would we like to see from the particpants?
We would like that the participants to blog and/or write about their experience with the kit -- and the AIR module itself on the kit.
Preference will be given to applicants whose applications / reasons for participating are concentrated on three types of wireless applications:
Industrial Sensor Applications
Remote Controls / Switching Applications
Star Network Applications (of any type)

At first you must download CCS IDE (or IAR IDE), try this "direct" link: http://bit.ly/PQI5Ga . Sign in with your TI's login, or create new account, next fill in stupid export regulations form, after that you will be able to download this IDE.
Source code is included on CD (ROOT\Firmware\). In CCS IDE, click on "Project" menu, select "Import existing CCS project" and chose directory with firmware source. After proper installation of CCS, MSP LaunchPad will be recognized in system, so you should program LaunchPad easily.
Yeah, I got mine this afternoon! As said before, the 553's were not preloaded :/ Would anyone be able to give me a hand flashing the firmware? I am new to the TI launchpad and CCS as well and hence am very confused by how to load the firmwear. Any help will be met with great thanks and a beer if you ever pass by Sydney, Australia
I was selected for an Element14 Road Test. And didn't know until I received the TI 430Boost-CC110L BoosterPack and Anaren Integrated Radio (AIR) modules on my Door Step!:O That was quite a nice surprise, though:) I try to keep up with all of the e-mails that I get from the Element14 e-mail notices. But, either I missed the notice listing me as a recipient or one was never sent. Now, I'm a bit behind and I need to get to work on testing and writing my review! I'll try to get started on it this weekend...
The 2553 chips pre installed on the MSP430 Launchpad's delivered with the Air-Booster packs from Anaren WERE NOT preloaded with a sample program for the Air- Booster packs...just the usual Lanchpad Demo...
No problem to download firmware from the source included on disc...just remember to 1.make sure your compiler is set for the 2553 part and 2. Make sure you use the Laucnhpad_CC1101 option for the compiler/linker...
Just received an email from UPS to tell me that the Roadtest will be delivered tomorrow...Friday 21st September...this Roadtest is now listed as a PAST ROADTEST...can someone jiggle with the timing of when Roadtests enter this stage to reflect real life...it obviously takes a little while after closing a Roadtest for winners to be decided and notified, and then to actually deliver and get tested...
