Introduction

PiFace Digital is designed to plug on to the GPIO of your Raspberry Pi, allowing you to sense and control the real world. With PiFace Digital you can detect the state of a switch, for example from a door sensor, a pressure pad or any number of other switch types. Once this state has been detected, you can write your own software for Raspberry Pi that determines how to respond to that switch state. You can drive outputs to power motors, actuators, LEDs or anything you can imagine.

AFAIK, element14 has only ever sold the MK 2 board. The MK 1 original board was only available locally in UK as a development board from Uni of Manchester before Jan 2013. The MK 2 board as a number of small differences, the most identifiable being that it has 8 surface mount leds for the outputs instead of only 4 by 3mm leds on the MK 1 board.

I'm one of the lucky guys who received a PiFace. I also received a letter with it saying that I have 60 days to provide a review. Today is 36 days since I received it so I have 24 days left! Be patient, I will provide a review!

There is still a little time left is there not? I know myself I will personally be adding my review at the weekend, I unfortunately have had family commitments that have not allowed me to get as much done yet as I'd hoped.

I note that there appears to be 11 reviews, out of 50 pending.
Many of them are good, and some are very good.

This is not a good response.
There also seems to be a few reviews that are less than users could find if they looked on the box.

Is E14 going to enforce the requirements of the application.?

As pointed out by Reinoid, the paperwork said 60 days but the website says 3-6 weeks ... ooops.

Can Anyone please guide me that should I use Python 2.7 for PiFace or should switch to the newer Python 3?

Looking forward to it arriving soon then (give or take a few days for the couriers to swap and then hand it to the rural postie).

The one I borrowed to test didn't have the pins extending through the board to allow easy access to the other GPIO pins.
I can't modify it for my project, as its not mine.

Mark, my road-test piface was delivered to my front door in Brisbane Australia about 30 mins ago. It was shipped from South Carolina USA.
