Why you want to test these products? and...
Your approach to blogging about the ensuing project.
RoadTesters are required to produce:
A full, comprehensive and well thought out review
A minimum of 3 blog posts about these product(s) in the Arduino section of element14. (These are due by Friday, January 23, 2015)
Failure to provide the review and blogs within the above time-scale will result in the enrollee being excluded from future Road Tests.
Very respectfully, I wanna say that in the past year here, I have learned exactly the opposite "How to overcome your limitations and learn from Everyone". Its a great bunch of people, I see the best stepping out of their comfort zone to create something brilliant and taking the time out to reach out and help more than you expect.
This place is magical I tell you and after some time... there are no limitation.
I want to wish all in the contest good luck. As for me, I learned much from the experience including "know one's limitations". Really I had fun even if I did not meet my personal goals. This community "rocks" in my book.
I think learning itself is an incentive and in most cases, we learn from each other. Being a participant in a challenge or roadtest gives everyone an opportunity to look at something in their own unique perspective and then when the dust settles, it gives us an opportunity to understand someone else's viewpoint.
I feel honored to converse with such giants in this field on this platform and my incentive has been to take in as much as possible and with every blog post that you guys put up, I gain something sitting at my desk, just by clicking clicking clicking.
Additionally, every 6 months, I get the opportunity to see 300 or so new thoughts in the form of students and they (hopefully) get something from me as well. I know it's been successful when a student takes the time out after graduation, to find me call me or meet me and tell me what I did right which is an incentive.
In India, engineering students in their graduation will sometimes 'pay' training institutes for internships and I have received a million offers from institutes to join hands and even more PARENTS to START an institute of my own so that I can offer something to their kids. Though I cannot make everyone join the E14 community, I do take in selective interns now and teach them at no cost, and tell them about ongoing projects on the community, design challenges etc. Having that information to give away is an incentive.
Since my scholarship is practically non-existant, I am not high on funds and hence for teaching aids, I depend on roadtest hardware, stuff that e14 sends, challenge budgets and hardware and software that other manufacturers and distributors are now sending to me for review. That aspect is an incentive I have written a few books but never seen any royalties on that but online writing has brought up so much to my world that I am even considering becoming a professional blogger! I am so thankful to the moral and intellectual support that everyone here provides and it is another incentive.- To be appreciated.
The incentive is not only for learning but also to fulfill other goals. In this particular case, in addition to the 3D printer, the incentive goes a little deeper...
I did learned lots of new things during the road test, as IoT is a new thing for me. This being my first IoT project, I did it some how, but others are far ahead of me, now I just wish to learn more and more and the book will be really a good resource for learning..
I'm usually impatient or pumped up about something or the other.
I did my forgetmenot with a big plan a lot like Peter sir so I did this challenge like you... more focused plan with a more practical target. See I'm learning
