All finalists who finish their projects will receive a copy of Internet of Things with the Arduino Yún by Marco Schwarz. This book provides inspirational projects and information so that the finalists can take their Internet of Things exploration with the Arduino Yún even further in 2015.

RoadTesters will be selected based on the quality of the application; we expect a full and complete description of:
Why you want to test these products? and...
Your approach to blogging about the ensuing project.
RoadTesters are required to produce:
A full, comprehensive and well thought out review
A minimum of 3 blog posts about these product(s) in the Arduino section of element14. (These are due by Friday, January 23, 2015)
Failure to provide the review and blogs within the above time-scale will result in the enrollee being excluded from future Road Tests.

Best Application Prize
As part of the application process, we offered a set of Minion Ornaments:
...for the most detailed, content-rich proposal we received. I'm pleased to announce the winner is none other than Peter Oakes, in particular for his initial concept of the components used in this challenge as being in concert at a BYOB (Bring Your Own Bulbs) holiday party, which was then followed by his detailed ideas.
What an amazing group of applications! The final tally is 55 pages worth / 14700 words. We will get to a decision as soon as we possibly can, either later today or first thing tomorrow.
Hi Steve, did you not notice the count down timer on top right of every road test now ?, that's what I have been going off, have to admit though, I did not notice the dependency to the date

Forgot to say, the other fun bit with this road test is that it is not so much about testing these products but seeing what you can do with them, more of a challenge if you like
You will receive an email along with the rest of the participants, probably in the next couple of days as this challenge is quite aggressive in the time lines, its completion is Jan 16 so not much more than 4 weeks by the time parts arrive to complete 3 or more blogs, build up everything and submit the final solution
Unfortunately we don't have much time: the deadline is partially dictated by getting things shipped in a timely manner. Submit what you've got by the deadline and we'll take a look - no doubt you'll do a great job.

Display using the listed components (UNO, YUN and Infinion Shield) and whatever you may add (Lights for example) and if you get selected then you will receive the products to implement your proposed xmas light project with,
You have to post progress with videos, pictures, documents etc you progress each 2 weeks ish (Min 3 blog posts)
then after the designated project time if you have the best project with those products etc. you win the grand prize
I have recently had a chance to sample the delicious foods of Japan. Squid is nice, but the texture is a little off putting. It is rather slimey to say the least. Octopus also tastes nice, but is a little chewy. But for a real culinary adventure you should try natto, fermented soybeans. I personally enjoyed them, but most non natives don't. As for the challenge, it looks cool, but I have not got a clue as to what the eclipse lot platform does, let alone how to use it. The website that is linked to is very confusing.
