GIZMO 2GIZMO 2 is the second generation open source x86 development board presented by GizmoSphere. Gizmo 2 provides the power of a high performance computer and the I/O capabilities of a microcontroller through the use of an AMD Embedded G-Series System-on-Chip (SOC). The board includes the AMD GX-210HA dual-core processor, combined on a single die with AMD Radeon HD 8210E discrete-class graphics, providing 85 GFLOPS performance while drawing only 9 watts TDP.

Gizmo 2 is among the highest performing Open Source x86 development boards available, providing a wealth of leading features and capabilities including an HDMI dedicated port, an mSATA port for connecting SSDs and a microSD card slot.

Testers are required to produce a full, comprehensive and well thought out review within 2 months of receipt of the product.
Failure to provide this review within the above timescale will result in the enrolee being excluded from future RoadTests.

I've just noticed this has been moved out of roadtests in review to past roadtests. I expected to have until the end of May to write my review although I've now had sufficient chance experiment with Gizmo 2 to write one up sooner.

I'll start putting it together and should have it posted up in the next day or 2, it really has been a fun little product to work with!

Just finished putting together my first technical project update for this project including hardinfo benchmarks, installing ubuntu etc..

Yay!!!

I'm so looking forward to using the Gizmo2 for a retro games console project; Along the way, there'll be regular blog posts detailing how the project is progressing and hopefully will be complete by the time the review is due.

The blog's and additional content should be linked to from here in due course and also in the final review which will be created once I've had chance to fully evaluate the Gizmo2 and everything it has to offer.

It's great to have the opportunity to work with the latest generation of small board computers utilising modern system on chip technologies (which I am sure will be the direction that present and future computing will progress) and thank Element14, Christian ( doctorcdf), Gizmosphere and everyone involved in the selection process.

So let's see.
with 66 pages of applicants.
8 applicants per page.

66 x 8 = 528 applications
There are 3 Gizmo's to be road tested.

You would want to ensure your application to Road test the product would be
memorable. Because the judges obviously have a lot of reading to do, to find
the right candidates for this particular task. I am pretty sure they would look
at the content you have provided, how you intend to test and what the desired outcome
would be and of course is it relevant to the device itself.

But I digress.

How do you know if you have been accepted? You get an email from one of the judges
and it then kicks off the process of getting the item to you.
