Anyone ever take the Maser out of their microwave oven?

This may be an odd question, but have you ever took a microwave maser out and used it for anything?

A friend of mine once told me he wants to take one and attach it to the front of his car to "punish" people who cut him off. After turning my lunch to near plasma, I don't think I would want a microwave maser point at me.

Maybe a red light camera "de-activator" is in the midst.

MASER stands for "Microwave Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation."

I didn't see any Magnets in the Microwave I took apart. Are they inside the Maser?

just a note, as I couldn't seem to get across to one 'holier-than-though' on Instructables.com, read and note the working voltage on the side of the BIG capacitors on the input side of those supplies, and treat them as if the bleeder resistors on them are totally shot. (in other words, 240V, means even a 120V possible kick to the keester. Always treat them as charged, and live! (this coming from someone trying to fix a malfunctioning digital camera, and placing one finger across the flash capacitor. felt like a bee stinging, then YEOW!!!!))

I hope you got a microwave detector before you power it up to test it. I got mine online who sell them to people worried about leakage from ovens and it works great.

You also might consider popping lenses out of a pair of cheap sunglasses and replacing the lenses with cutt out screens from the old microwave. Eyes are sentisitve.

    Have fun!
