About the Panasonic Grid-EYE Lab Test

element14, in collaboration with Panasonic Automotive & Industrial Systems, are proud to announce the Panasonic Grid-EYE Lab Test.
We're offering a selection of Engineering schools the opportunity to test out the Grid-EYE evaluation kit in a project of their choosing. Participants will be invited to document the progress of their projects in this space, using blog posts, images, video, open source and any other media they wish.
On completion of the projects, Panasonic and element14 will select the entry that we feel demonstrates the highest degree of originality, innovation and technical merit. The faculty responsible for this project will be awarded a budget of 2,000EUR to spend on selected Panasonic components and equipment.

About the Grid-EYE Evaluation Kit
The Grid-EYE Evaluation Kit  offers fast evaluation and prototyping for IoT and many other applications. A 64 pixel IR camera housed in a surface mount packaging, integrating a “nanopower” Bluetooth Smart Module and a microcontroller, it is ideal for engineers and students to prototype and test their own designs.

Participation
Participation in the Grid-EYE Evaluation Kit Lab Test is open to Engineering schools and Universities by invitation only.
The Challenge
The full judging criteria for the Grid-EYE Evaluation Kit Lab Test - as laid out in the terms and conditions - are as follows:
“Submissions will be judged on the final software functionality of the finished Project, as created by the participants. Participants must also submit complete and published software files, including the source codes, which the judges will analyse as part of their final decision making process. Originality, innovation and technical merit will also be taken into account, as will the completeness and clarity of blogs and supporting media describing the evolution and completion of the Project.”
Final submissions are due by 23:59 on Friday 30th June 2017, with the winning project announced shortly thereafter. ALL JUDGING DECISIONS are final.
Grand Prize
The faculty behind the winning project will receive a budget of 2,000EUR to spend on selected Panasonic equipment and components.

    Very interesting challenge.

Given some of the recent app notes released, I have some ideas that I need to develop.

This might be one challenge that I can indeed participate and support my physics research.

    Cool.
