Introducing the University IoT Challenge - £5,000 of Kit to be Won

image

Course leaders and students from UK Universities will have the opportunity to win up to £5,000 worth of equipment to pursue an IoT project, in the latest education challenge from Farnell element14.

The University IoT Challenge - in association with Rohde & Schwarz - invites University teams to submit an idea for an IoT project that they would like to pursue. The idea should be something that has the potential to help people in need - from providing a tool for individuals with complex physical or mental needs to improving the quality of life for people in third world countries.

When all of the applications have been submitted - alongside a bill of materials for the equipment required to complete the project - a panel of judges will select four finalists based on the merit, originality and feasibility of the idea. These ideas will then be put to the vote right here on the element14 community.

After the online vote closes, the winning team will receive:

  • The equipment outlined on their bill of materials up to a maximum value of £5,000
  • If your bill of materials comes to less than £5,000, you will be able to use the remaining balance to order any additional products from uk.farnell.com
  • A bundle of test and measurement products from Rohde & Schwarz, including 1 x RTC1000 Oscilloscope, 50 MHz, 2ch 8ch MSO  and 1 x NGE102 Power supply
  • A dedicated contact from the Farnell element14 team to provide assistance and feedback in completing your design.

Update: The finalists for the University IoT Challenge have now been selected. You can read their proposals and vote for the winner here.
