1 METRE OF Pi– NINTH POST – MAIN ELEMENTS – ADDS

Addendum A to Blog/Post Nine:

I previously wrote:

“Note: In the original proposal I had included a Solar Panel (or a series of panels) to be sited at the very top of the Construction to provide additional back-up power.”

ADDS: As the application is indoors, today’s technology would not be practical. However, tomorrow’s technology could change that perspective: There are at least two areas of research from which practical experiments are pointing the way towards alternative methods of generating solar power, e.g. using lead-free perovskite-inspired material in place of voltaic cells and waste crops made into cladding to absorb ultraviolet light. These will be examined for suitability to be applied in future developments of the Modular Vertical Farm.

Addendum B to Blog/Post Nine

I previously wrote:

“I have developed the basic principles of motion and control for one of the most important aspects of my design proposals, the ‘GIZZMOTO’ special pump with a telescopic outlet/extension and a distribution head attachment.

“The purpose of the system is to give the options of supplying Air – at ambient or increased temperature – or Moisture, in the form of atomised droplets – again, at a pre-set temperature – to each of four levels, where growing containers are sited.”

ADDS: I have since schemed-out more detail on the GIZZMOTO TELESCOPIC PUMP. **

The importance of this sub-system can be underlined by its ability to produce a wide range of environment conditions, from temperate to tropical, substituting mechanical pumps and fans.

**See: GIZZMOTO Telescopic.jpgimage

Note the inclusion of Piezo Air Assisted Valves that require extremely low power/power saving electrical operating signals.

Final blog/post to follow later today 04 January 2021
