While working on the greenhouse and waiting for the kit to arrive, I've started working on the seedlings.
The next photo is from seven days in the coconut coir with just water- This is the first tray of seedlings . The beans are starting to sprout, like the
Day 7 for tray 2, day 14 for tray 1
After 14 days for tray 1 and 7 days for tray 2, the Beefsteak tomatoes and four seasons lettuce are starting to sprout, beautifully .
Both trays already have nutrients in the coconut coir.
Day 12 for tray 2, day 19 for tray 1
After a few more days, the seedlings are getting stronger and bigger - they're almost ready to go to the hydroponics setup and start their journey.
I've moved them to a small greenhouse, protected from the wind and rain, but getting some sun light.
I'm hoping that the bell peppers will sprout . By this time - my fault because I haven't written anywhere what is what - I'm unable to identify most of the sprouts.
Some are self evident, but others, by this time, still aren't.
After another week, things are starting to look a bit more green
We can really see the beans, lettuce, tomatoes, peppers (I hope) and others still growing.
Others aren't developing very well or not at all
Tomorrow will be a new day and I will put some of these seedlings in the hydroponics kit and start what this project is all about.
Probably there's still some kinks in the code, but the main functions and control is functioning.
That's another post
