Welcome to Project LOKI!
Reading through the concept of this Design Challenge: Bluetooth Unleashed I was very intrigued by the 12 options for Heros.
So many great choices to choose from what would should I go with...
Then I thought, Wait!
What would one do if you had to Hack like Harold?
Being as Harold Bluetooth Gormson, King of Denmark and Norway back in 958-986, is the reasoning behind the Bluetooth naming idea it would seem only fitting to apply "Hack Like Harold" to this project!
Being of the times of Vikings Harold spent a good amount of time on security. Such as his fortifying of the fortress Aros. He knew that security was key to being a good ruler and to prosperity.
I think it would be reasonable to think that perhaps in today's age of modern marvels he would be interested in a Project that pursued the specifics on security for Bluetooth.
Having the Raspberry Pi 3b+ now available and showing so much promise makes me want to run with this as the Project's platform to work with.
There are numerous linux tools out there such as Bluelog, BlueMaho, Bluepot, BlueRanger and Bluesnarfer.
There is also a well supported package called Kali that has been ported to Linux and works with the Raspberry Pi that has all these tools plus more.
I don't believe there is an "official" release yet for the latest Raspberry Pi 3b+ so using this new platform will take some customization but will be well worth it for the extra power it provides.
Kali does not seem to be the type of naming Harold would apply to one of his projects, but Loki the God of Cunning would possibly appeal. As such our Project will be named Project LOKI.
- One of the main parts of the project will be getting the latest version of Raspberry Pi up and running with Kali. To include custom loading if so needed.
- Once this has been done testing of the bluetooth tools to see how well they run and what type of security information they can provide will be next.
- Additional efforts will be put into making Project Loki portable and headless to allow for stealth use and travelling around whatever Fortress you may be working to secure.
- With success of the above I will continue to improve upon the project by adding a small touchscreen.
- Additional features may include adding external sensors and antenna to allow a wider range of detection.
I would be very excited and honored to "Hack like Harold" if so chosen by Element 14 and look forward to working with the Design Challenge and seeing what the other Members will bring to the Challenge.
So much potential!
Thank you.
