BTU - Project LOKI.08 - To StickyPi or Not...

When I came across this version of Kali for the Raspberry Pi it seemed to be a great opportunity to tie in bluetooth tools and handy menu format that would be ideal for portability.

From the website:

Latest Kali Linux on Raspberry Pi with Touch Screen, Bluetooth and touch optimised interface(New: Bluetooth, Rogue AP, Remote access AP, more tools)

With the specifics on Bluetooth I had thought this is great!  Looking out there at Kali, there are a few good Bluetooth tools that would be nice to work with in a simple portable menued device.

Now that we have our Raspberry Pi 3b+ running and loaded with a working version of StickyPi menu system.  Lets see what it has to offer:

image

So from here we have 9 options:

Exit, X on TFT, X on HDMI, Shutdown, VNC Server, Terminal, Reboot, Screen Off and next menu.

Most options are pretty obvious.  Not sure the benefit of Exit since by default the menu returns after being done with any menu option so I just kind of cycle back to the menu over and over.  :-)

Shutdown seems to have an issue with my screen I will need to pursue more.  It goes through shutdown but then the screen goes bright and never powers off.

Let's take a look at the next menu.

image

9 more options, with 2 being taken up with the option to scroll back one menu and forward one menu.  In addition we have WWW, FTP, SQL, RAS-AP, darkstat, ntopng and Screen Off.

None of these are the Bluetooth Tools I am looking for.

So on to the next menu.

image

More options, still no bluetooth specific tools though.

On to the next menu.

More intriguing options, but not the bluetooth tools I am looking for.

image

Okay, on to the next menu.

Good information on the Raspberry Pi itself.  But not what I want.

And I am out of menu options.

So it seems I need to check and see if I have bluetooth tools available.  If so can I customize the menu to add those options.  If not can I get some tools.  And then customize the menu.

There seems to be a large number of options in terms of software to run on your raspberry Pi, hopefully you will be able to find 'the tools that you are looking for'. Gene
