Piezo de resistance!

Here is a demonstration of a very basic piezo speaker powering the Energy Harvesting Solution To Go Kit.

By bending its diaphragm backwards and forwards by with just my fingers yields over 10 volts peak-peak and enough current to be harvested.

Hey Monte,
You're quite rough on your piezo
I tried the same, but with tapping, and got nothing. Apparently I had to be exerting more force. Didn't you have problems with the ceramic material breaking?
