Energy Harvesting Seminar - Krakow

5 Jul 2013

While my project is not quite finished yet, I would like to share my thoughts about the EH seminar I attended on Tuesday two weeks ago. There were people from all over Poland, even from the opposite site of the country. That shows that companies here seriously take energy harvesting techniques under consideration in their current and future designs. Since EH is quite new, there is still much to learn for all the engineers, despite their experience in electronics.

The seminar was led by element14, wurth elektronik, energy micro and linear. Since it was free, the correct ratio between marketing and technical knowledge was fine – in my opinion. During coffee brakes and lunch I had a pleasure to talk to some really good, open minded engineers from variety of companies. Also, I have really enjoyed the technical sessions where guys explained in details some interesting things about EH chips and circuits. The demo presentation of the EH kit was also great. The only thing that people told me they missed was a chance to play with the kit during the seminar, but I believe this would bring some logistics difficulties to travel with so many kit boxes. Maybe next time.

I hope the seminar about EH could become the annual thing in Krakow.
