Good morning -
First and foremost, a big thank you to all of the Energy Harvesting Challenge participants: we have been impressed with the way their ingenuity and efforts have pushed the frontiers of this technology.
As ever, it's been difficult to select a winner.
Monte Chan has been a dynamic presence throughout this event, and his batteryless wireless remote control points the way to the future. We're glad he continues to experiment with the technology although the competition has formally ended.
However, our choices for the grand prize are Wojciech Gelmuda's Carbon Monoxide Detector and Victor Sluiter's Egg Timer. These projects fulfil the stated goal of providing a practical prototype of a device that could be powered by Energy Harvesting. Shortly, both Wojciech and Victor will be receiving bundles from Würth Elektronik, Energy Micro and Linear Technology. The bundle includes boards, gift certificates and other cool gear.
Again, our sincere congratulations to both Wojciech and Victor.
