Just to let everyone know: all the final blogs are with the judges.

I expect to announce the winners this week.

Thanks for participating.

It is not clear. Final blog worth 300 points which is almost the same which about contestants already have. In recent competitions judgess spread scores between 100 - 290 pts. It is very high spread and…

I made a commitment to the community and to the sponsor when I applied for, and accepted the challenge. I followed through as best as I could given my circumstances - I'm more in awe of both your (javagoza ) and Anthocyanina 's contributions as I didn't manage to get to that level of application and simulation. Admittedly, simulation didn't even cross my mind, being a "hands-on" kind of person.

I wouldn't be able to rest soundly if I had been a "no-show" for the challenge, being the recipient of such generosity already in having the challenger's kit sent to me. I am glad to have even finished the series given how little time I had to spare. But I would feel a very undeserving winner even having just indulged in a fraction of both of your works, hence my comments Slight smile. I didn't deliver at the late stage to win ... I delivered to save my reputation, ease my conscience and to fulfill my promises. I did expect more challengers to have finished the series however ... but alas, running challenges over the Christmas/New Year period can be hectic.

I shall await the final judges outcomes, but you know my thoughts already ...

I don't think you're out of the running for awards. Your blogs, as always, are exceptionally clean and entertaining. There are several experiments that, although they did not come to fruition, are very instructive.

In any case, the effort you made to fulfill the commitment and energize the challenge is appreciated. Without your appearance there probably wouldn't be so many blogs now.

While the final judges may have the "weight" on their side, my prediction would be that the distribution of the weights isn't likely to go significantly against the already established score trends. It's a two-horse race as far as I'm concerned Slight smile.

I think we already know who are the front-runners based on the table. It's down to who comes #1 and #2 ...

It was a hectic, difficult, but also rather interesting challenge. I learned a lot about what I don't know ... which is a good thing, should I wish to pursue the use of flyback transformers in the future. I wasn't aiming to win any prizes given the time constraints due to competing commitments, but I wasn't expecting so few to have finished the challenge either ...

I guess the results will flyback with four blogs to judge.
