Equation editor not working?

Anthocyanina

Hi. while writing my first blog, the equation editor appears to do nothing upon clicking ok after editing an equation. also, keyboard input doesn't appear to be allowed unless you click on one of the buttons. but when i edit them and click ok, while during blog writing, it appears as a rectangle that says "equation editor" and when i preview the blog post, it only shows the default buttons i pressed, but not the edits i made, like in this screenshot

image

i modified an = Sqrt(x) equation, clicked ok, but it still shows up as the empty defaults when previewing the blog post.

what should i do? does the blog writing site support latex?

thank you!

Just a personal view, I feel it's best from the readers perspective, if equations are shown as PNG or JPG images. That way you can have the equation large and high quality and not reliant on font size settings in the browser. Its nice when the image is large enough to be readable, plus people can click on it to make it much larger. The image cannot be inline, but that's no big issue because it makes the blog author space things out for readability.

Some problems with trusting that the text equations will render correctly. On my mobile, the equations can split onto two rows, and it then looks weirdly formatted:

Another problem; the tops of some of the equation parts is removed or a different shade.

Whereas with a JPG or PNG equation, it's perfect on desktop and mobile:

Mobile view in dark mode, is still readable:
