Some important questions that needs to be answered
- What is a Hull cell ?
A hull cell is a testing tool, or a miniature electroplating cell, in which an electroplating solution is evaluated across the range of operating conditions. An evaluation of the deposit on the cathode across a range of current densities is useful in demonstrating the capabilities of a plating bath solution.
Making the hell cell:-
We have used acrylic sheet for preparing the hull cell. Figure 1 shows the acrylic cut out for the hull cell

For assembling the hull cell we have used 3 types of glue. These are clear Acrylic glue, Hot glue and strong epoxy glue. Acrylic glue was used for the preliminary assembly. Then hot glue was used from out side to hold the structure and prevent any leakages. The leakages was tested and where every there was a requirement of sealing the leakages. We have sealed the leakages using hot glue. After sealing the structure using hot glue. We started sealing the assembly using very strong permanent Epoxy adhesive. Video 2 shows the assembled structure of the hull cell.
