Side Notes - Breadboard Friendly Connections

Side Notes - Breadboard Friendly Connections

The thermistors were provided mostly with pigtail wires, and a few had special connectors that, sadly, I don't have a match for.

So I decided to solder some breadboard friendly ends onto all of the thermistors in the kit, to make it easier to experiment with them.

For the ends, I just used some inexpensive jumper wires, cut in half.
I left the soldered parts exposed in case I want to desolder the ends off later to add longer leads for my final project.

Soldering ends onto a thermistor

Ends soldered onto the thermistors

Apparently, the resistance of any added wires is insignificant compared to the resistance of the thermistors, so there's no reason to use short jumper wires like I did - for me that was just more convenient (plus I have a lot more of the short jumper wires in my drawer!)

Enjoy,
-Nico

I used the same idea to create easy connections for my capacitive sensing board.
