Waterproof test on Connectors

Table of Contents

  • 1 Use of Humidity Indicators
  • 2 Arrage the Humidity Indicator and fix the connectors
  • 3 Putit under water
  • 4 Fix under water just and flushing
  • 5 The final result

1 Use of Humidity Indicators

I have placed order of Humidity indicators.

image

The blue point turns to pink instantly when water drops on it.

image

That is good to test imgression of water.

2 Arrage the Humidity Indicator and fix the connectors

Arrage the Humidity Indicator and fix the connectors alone the enclosure,

image

Put small pieces of blue point inside the waterproof connectors. It is good to show water mark.

image

The idea is Ok. But when unplug the connector after test, the small piece of paper is liable to miss or jump randam even to touch water outside of the connector.

image

I could not find all the proper terminal cover for all the RF connectors, so be it. That is not good practice.

3 Putit under water

Put it under water,

Without heavy object inside, it floats.

5 The final result

As expected, the result is obviously good.

The water outside of the connectors

All the indicators remain unchanged.

The result is good, but it just takes about one hour. .

The fact is that  waterproof connectors can work for hash condition for dozens of years without maintenance. This test can not show the durable functions just in one hour.
