What Kind of Prizes Would You Like for Experimenting with Components Competitions

I seem to be running more and more experimenting Competitions. Since they are popular with element14 members, I will continue to run more of them.

Up until now, I usually pick some consumer electronics as prizes. But I don't feel I should limit myself to that category of prizes. Test equipment has suggested. So, let me put it up for a vote.

Interesting idea. So, how about this: let's say for the grand prize the winner gets two option: either a laptop or an o'scope. I think we can do that.

I voted other because: Test equipment is good but offering specific items makes the prize attractive or unattractive mostly according to what gear you already have. A test equipment voucher for either…

I voted DC bench power supply because that would encourage me most to participate. I am working on some USB PD stuff, so a fair bit of power is required.

    I voted other because:

Test equipment is good but offering specific items makes the prize attractive or unattractive mostly according to what gear you already have.

A test equipment voucher for either any Farnell stocked item or any item from a named (and maybe sponsoring) supplier (obviously only up to the value of the voucher but possibly with a top up option.)

Good suggestion - it would make it much more attractive for a wider set of members..

    voucher

I really wish we could create monetary vouchers for the online stores to be honest.

Store support it, doesn't it? I remember than when there were mass giveway of Azure Sphere Development Kits it was organised by entering some voucher code in basket and only shipping was billed. Can be this feature adapted to competitions?

Project14 gives "shopping cart" prizes - how would this be different?

I would like to be able to use those shopping cart vouchers for items that cost more, and just pay the difference.

Good idea.  As an aside, it would be great if we could convert some of our contributor points to vouchers for the Farnell/Neware/Avnet stores.  More you contribute, the greater the rewards.

Unfortunately not. There was a lot of management behind the scenes that was specific for the Azure Sphere and that product to allow that to happen. Slight smile

To show a bit behind the scenes behind the curtain, the shopping cart prizes, a member of our team orders the prizes for you with our staff account(s) - if we were able to give out vouchers, you'd be able to order it yourself Slight smile I'd love to be able to do shopping cart vouchers, but we don't have access to the online store system to do it, and a bunch of other process things.
