This is an update to the IQU project entered in the Forget Me Not Design challenge showing a STM320U sensor mounted on a window frame to detect when the window is open.
I mounted an STM320U on one of the window frames in my house that is prone to letting rain in when it is windy. The sensor is enclosed in a white case, but the red solar cell cannot be covered without killing its power scavenging capability.
I mounted a corresponding magnet on the window - (it is not covered with white for this video so that it will show up in the video).
I used my VB House monitoring app to publish status of all sensors, including this solar-powered wireless window sensor.
I still have not received all the Enocean modules I wanted, and some reed switches as well, but I can demonstrate some progress on the smart window.
In this demonstration I am using my cell phone to wirelessly monitor the house status published as a house image with graphical indicators. In this case the window will go bright yellow when it is open.
