Hi Pascal, Ordinarily you'll want to set your scope up so that you can see the part of the waveform that you're interested in, and you can adjust to view the desired portion and then capture a screenshot if you want. GNU Octave will allow you to plot any portion of the data, but there is no GUI - it is command line based. It is also useful for many other tasks, so spending some time experimenting with GNU Octave is not time wasted. The steps to use it are listed at the web link earlier. It is possible to write your own software with GUI but GNU octave is convenient. For me, most of the time (95%) OpenChoice Desktop gets used and is sufficient. If you're looking at digital data stream (e.g. I2C) that may not be repetitive and hard to capture in a single shot visible on the screen, then there is some difficulty, because the serial bus analysis tools are resident on the scope, not on desktop software as I understand. (There might be a table view of the bytes - worth checking your scope. There is such a view on the Tektronix MSO series). However it is possible to use the Open Bench Logic Sniffer client software to replay your logic capture (information is at the same web link) although some initial effort is needed to convert the file into the OBLS format (I wrote a simple program to do this - again attached at the same URL). It may need some adjustments to work for your scope, it's only been tested on one model.

Hi Pascal, If you just want to view and not post-process, then OpenChoice Desktop should do it (it has an open file option) as far as I am aware. I mainly use it for screen captures. I find OpenChoice Desktop is fairly essential software, it helps me document regularly (and not have to remember what a trace looked like before I make a hardware change). Otherwise, GNU Octave will do it. See here (near the end) for the process/commands to use for the MSO 2024B (it should work with your oscilloscope too). Also t here is an attached program at that link called reduce.cc which strips the CSV file to 1-in-N entries, in case you have more data than is needed. If you want to do some processing on the data (e.g. filter it), then there is an (extremely) condensed tutorial on GNU Octave with oscilloscope traces here, hopefully it should be enough to get you going.
