In my last post, I detailed how I had finally finished making each individual petal for each of the NeoPixel flowers (yay!). I have now put together the petals together to form the flowers on which the NeoPixels will sit.
I have cut 3cm diameter discs to act as the flower middles and the place where the NeoPixels will be anchored to. I made a template out of card and used this to cut the circles from craft foam, which is only a couple of millimetres thick and easy to put a needle through. The eventual sewing of each component was a big consideration when forming the flowers. While the petals are adhered to the foam circle with glue from a glue gun, the glue is only in the centre of the foam ensuring there is no glue where the eventual stitches will be placed. Now the these flowers are done, I can turn towards thinking about sewing all the components together! Exciting times ahead!
