In the last blog for the Just Encase Design Challenge, I'm publishing the results and the videos of the landslide monitoring system. The enclosure box contains the electronics that detects the vibrations triggered due to the landslide and sounds an alarm. Various locations were chosen of different altitudes and the enclosure box was put to test by dropping it from the mountains in harsh terrain with stones and mud.
Here are the videos of the tests and some photos of the enclosure box after all the tests.
I did many tests with the enclosure and surprisingly it did not break. From the video, it can be seen that the box is hitting various terrains, from plants to rocks and it did not break at all. It got only a few scratches.
This concludes the testing of the enclosure. The enclosures are really tough and durable and can withstand rough terrains. The only problem I face was mounting the electronics inside the enclosure as the electronic parts were smaller in size as compared to the enclosure.
