I was asked this question by my son, why trying to create this when you could just use a Windows PC and some free image display software? The easy answer is "because". But I realized that this did not go far enough in explaining my motivation and what I wanted to accomplish. The purpose of course is to approach a situation from a different perspective and see what new skills I can learn. Sure I could follow the easy route but then I would not learn anything and it is important to always be learning.
I have been thinking about materials for this build and I have reached the decision that the window frame is going to be constructed from re-purposed materials where ever possible and not new materials. This will reduce the cost of the project and also ensure my successful project can be copied by others who may not have a large budget for a project.
