Project Idea for Karaoke Machine using Raspberry Pi

Hello everyone,

Before starting any weekly update first of all I would like to thanks to doctorcdf and element14 team for giving us a wonderfull opportunity to work on a project and also for approving for final round.

Still I don't receive my Raspberry Pi Kit and accessories which are being provided for the completion of challenge but expecting to be receive as soon as posible as stated by the element14 team.

For participating in the competition, I suggest a idea for designing the Karaoke Machine.
before I tell you about my idea first of all we have to know what actually a karaoke machine is.

Karaoke Machine

Karaoke is a form of interactive entertainment or video game in which amateur singers sing along with recorded music using a microphone and public address system. The music is typically a well-known pop song minus the lead vocal.  Lyrics are usually displayed on a video screen, or music video images, to guide the singer. In some countries, a karaoke box is called a KTV. It is also a term used by recording engineers translated as "empty track" meaning there is no vocal track.

Idea For Karaoke Machine

I don’t want to reveal my idea, but in the email from Chirstan DeFeo he said to write about initial idea and thoughts about project.

So, I decided to write a brief about my project.

My idea about karaoke machine is little bit complex and I am not sure whether it works or not but I will try my best once I receive the kit. My idea is to design a Karaoke Machine simply by playing a media file either a song or a video using suitable media on Raspberry Pi. And for the lyrics of songs is just show as a normal subtitle of the media file.

Apart from that I work on to controlling the media player to work wirelessly using Smartphone, TV remote and another PC. Also I thought that making more Karaoke Machine more convenient by voice commanding technique. Although I am not sure whether my last things works or not but I try my best to make this possible. Also I want to say that this is not my full Idea but a small brief of my project.

After reading other post of all future problem that we gonna face in the project. I will write a post about installation of software, device and OS soon.

This is all for now.

Regards,

Sumit Rai
