Raspberry Pi and Karaoke Machine (Creating a simple SPY camera and microphone)

Hello everyone,

This post is somehow off topic but it uses raspberry pi and audio video features of raspberry pi.

So I thought to post about my project. I am sure you also have fun with the project.

My project is about streaming the audio and video over the LAN which is being played on the raspberry pi. I streamed the video with my laptop. All you need is that your PC or Laptop and raspberry pi is connected to the Local Area Network.

You can also do it vice versa. This project is very helpful for creating spy microphone and camera to investigate someone. image

Steps in PC

  1. Install and Open VLC player in Computer.
  2. In menu click on Media and then select Open capture device.
  3. In capture device select your choice of video device and audio device. Or leave it default.
  4. Then from below play option click on arrow and select stream.
  5. Then simply click on next.
  6. Now in destination setup select your choice of protocol. I here selected RTSP.
  7. Click on Add. Select your desired port value or leave it default. You’ll need the port later.
  8. Now click on Stream.
  9. Simply minimize your screen.

Steps in Raspberry Pi

  1. Install VLC player and it’s plugin in raspberry pi using command
    sudo apt-get install vlc browser-plugin-vlc
  2. Now open vlc player in raspberry pi.
  3. In menu click on Media and then select Open network stream.
  4. Input your protocol, PC local_ip and port like this rtsp://192.168.1.3:8554/
  5. Now simply click on play and its all done.

That’s all you can now see who is using your laptop or PC and what he/she or they are talking. image

This project is very much simple and easy.

But still If you have any problem and query regarding this don’t hesitate to ask. If you have any suggestion’ please comment below.

Regards,

Sumit Rai
