Rocking Raspberry Pi 'Karaoke Machine' - Overview

Hi Friends,

 

This blog mainly focuses on designing a Pi based Karoake Machine which can serve as a cool Karoake tool for the Vocalists.

 

Project aims to develop a Karoake machine which is controlled by an Android Phone (by using NetlO or setting up a server on pi to receive GET or Post calls/ Kryonet Library).

Audacity or Goldwave seems two most likely softwares to be used as Audio Editors for extracting Karoake tracks from Music files. A USB Microphone needed to record the Vocals and overlaying them on the karoake track by  using above mentioned Software.

Using GPIOs, the project aims to develop the Remote Control for controlling the Playback,Volume and Effects of the Track. RaspyFi can be used to play the Tracks, because it provides  a better sound Quality on the 3.5mm audio output Jack. Or using HDMI audio extractor also seems like a good plan for better sound quality.

The machine can be Transformed into a Mixing Machine even, where you record and add effects side by side, using the GPIOs controller. Even it can be interfaces with online music streaming Apps.

 

The idea is quite exciting and it'll be fun to bring it to life.
